Parenting
Yep, parenting a teen can be very challenging indeed!  Sometimes your teen wants your support, and sometimes they want you to leave them alone, and you're supposed to guess what they want now. Lots of ups and downs…lots of mood swings…lots of confusion.

As your kid becomes a teen, they stop needing a parent. (And boy, do they let you know that.) What they start needing is a mentor. Navigating the change in roles can be tricky, but it is well worth the trouble. I'll show you specific ways in which you can transition from parent to mentor and keep your relationship going.
Working with me, you'll learn how to:

  • Find the best ways to give your kid support.
  • Learn how to provide your teen the skills they need for adulthood in a way they will actually pay attention to.
  • Separate yourself from what your kid is doing and move ahead with your own life.
  • Ride the waves of chaos with more humor and compassion.
  • Connect with your inner faith that your kid really will figure things out.

And for the parents who have kids who are struggling to find their own way, dropping out of school (or wanting too), doing drugs, or getting into trouble with the legal system, I can show you new ways of handing these challenges, as well.
