Ahhhhhh the beautiful fragrance of a fresh new year!  I can smell it in the air.  I can hear folks talking about it in line at the store.  I hear adds on TV pumpin’ it up….

We love a clean slate.  We love a do over.  We love the opportunity to bring new energy to something that we want.

Here is a beautiful clean slate…January 1st 2009….all fresh…waiting for the master piece to be painted.

Happy Holidays everyone!

I was gonna write something about the holidays and dealing with families…but, something more important has dropped into my cute little holiday brain.

This weekend I spent some time watching TV.  Over and over again there were Victoria’s Secret commercials with these women in red bra’s and long red skirts running up and down stair cases…I think there were presents involved too.   I am not sure what the story is that they are trying to tell.  Are these women confused about where to put the presents?  Are they looking for the tree?  Did they forget which floor they put their shirts?  Did they just want to run up and down the stairs…reliving some childhood moments?

To prepare for this bankruptcy, my fella and I have to get together a bunch of paper work.  Part of this paper work entails adding up all that we made in each month of this last year in each of our businesses…and all that we spent each month of this last year in each of our businesses.

I have pretty folders that I keep all of my receipts in, and a pretty book that I write down all of the payments from my clients.  I also have a pretty purple calculator…and very cool pencils.   I gather all of my stuff and place it in organized piles on the kitchen table.  Oh, and I have good music on just to make this even more fun!

Happy Holidays everyone~ This morning we woke up to brisk temperatures…-13.  Yep.  -13.  Brrrrrrrrr~  When we let our dog out she turned around and looked at us with eyes that said “Ya gotta be kidding me!”…ran out the dog door and the flap of the dog door…broke off.  The door was even too cold to flap!

I LOVE this kind of cold.  Now, I realize that I don’t have to get into my car and drive to work.  I do have to get my cozy blanket and wrap it around me with my steaming hot cup of coffee and walk all the way down the hall to my office:)

It is absolutely gorgeous outside.  A blanket of white snow, the sun coming up with a beautiful pink and purple introduction.  It takes my breath away…and if I were outside…I really would have my breath taken away!

My fella and I have spent the last chunk of weeks dealing with these evil people.  It feels like we find some breathing room…we figure out how to deal with one piece and then all of a sudden we are in another catch-22.  This whole experience has been so bizarre.  And it ain’t over.

I am happy to say that we found a way to pay the surgeon…who saved my life…but, we have not figured out how to pay the hospital.  So, bankruptcy it is! (more…)
